Location

Several of High Street's grand Victorian villas, once home to the city's bankers and wealthy merchants, now operate as Bed & Breakfast accommodation. The lower reaches of the street is home to a burgeoning cafe scene that includes Nectar Espresso, Zuchinni Bros pizzeria and the great whole foods store, Taste Nature. Local residents are currently lobbying to have the High Street cable car, which ceased to operate in the 1950s, reinstated.

This High Street villa is a 5-minute walk to Princes St and a 15-minute walk to The Octagon or the Otago Farmers’ Market, which is held every Saturday at the Dunedin Railway Station. Bus-stops are located nearby to this property with services operating to the University and Mornington from opposite sides of the street.

The studio room I lived in was very spacious and had a beautiful view. The entire house was a blanket of warmth when the central heating was turned on, which made the cold winter tolerable. The furniture provided in the room saved me money and time, and was one of the main reasons I decided to apply for a room.  The one weekly payment made the financial side of flatting hassle free.

FREE unlimited UF Broadband at GIGAtown speed, uncapped power & hot water, free laundry facilities, weekly cleaning of communal areas. Efficient central heating from 1 April-30 September annually with heat radiators in every room! Most bedrooms feature microwaves and bar fridges. Two bedrooms have ensuites so there are only three bedrooms to share one large bathroom & a separate toilet. All rooms have LCD televisions. Some rooms enjoy great views of the city and coastline while the deck overlooks the garden and offers a tranquil retreat any time of the day.
